Two families, a shared moment of joy
“In short, thank you so much for everything, Harry.”English translation

For a day that feels like you.
Your love, in words for the people who matter
Wedding hosting begins with your story. An introduction or a few words of thanks can bring years of shared moments into one room. After ten years in Hong Kong weddings, I still begin by listening. Hear a little of my hosting, then tell me about the day you have in mind.
Begin an MC enquiry with your date, venue, expected guest count and required hosting hours. Add guests’ language needs, the activities you have in mind and who is already responsible off stage. These details make roles and fees easier to discuss.
Before your entrance, one person may be welcoming guests while another checks the outfit, camera positions and music. List those two sets of tasks, then agree who owns each one so that nobody is expected to be in two places at once. The support and number of people required are agreed separately.
If you are unsure which support to ask about, start with the MC and coordination responsibilities. If someone already manages the day, use the three interview situations to explore whether the hosting approach suits you.
Harry can host in Cantonese, Mandarin and simple English. Start with the languages your guests understand, then agree the approach to entrances, speech introductions and programme cues. Raise longer English passages or particular language needs in your enquiry so the details can be checked together.
I pay attention to different family backgrounds and customs, including Hong Kong boat-dwelling (水上人), Chiu Chow and Fujian families. Every family has its own wishes, even when backgrounds are similar. I begin by listening to you and both sets of parents, then discuss forms of address, rituals and the tone of the words. To me, success means a happy, smooth wedding day for the couple and both sets of parents feeling respected.
Use the family-wishes checklist to prepare your conversation, then explore tea-ceremony forms of address and blessings.

Confirm the hosting hours, script and running order, meetings and rehearsals. What is included depends on the arrangements agreed together.
Hosting and wider wedding coordination involve different responsibilities. If you need support with both, raise this in your enquiry so the roles, timing and arrangements can be discussed clearly.
